"CARPE DIEM" BARBERA D’ASTI SUPERIORE NIZZA D.O.C.G.

The crown jewel in our production, this wine has a recent history that is nonetheless rooted in a glorious past.
The hilly terrain surrounding Nizza Monferrato and the municipalities nearby has always been exceptionally suitable for growing the Barbera vine. But now, thanks to the tenacity of the wine producers and the passion they have for their lands, a historic recognition has been given to them: on July 1st, 2016 Nizza wine became a reality with the denomination D.O.C.G. - Designation of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin.
"The Barbera of yesterday is now the Nizza of today."
At last our city with its long tradition of wine-growing and production will be universally recognised as a synonym of excellence for its unique and matchless Barbera.

Our job is ensure care is taken at every step: to follow the grapes in the cellar, check the fermentation (maceration on the skins for at least 10 to 12 days), the evolution of malolactic fermentation that converts the sharper-tasting malic acid into the softer lactic acid.
It is aged in barriques, small oak barrels where the wine is left to rest for about a year The product’s apex is reached after it has remained in the bottle (for about six months) so as to enable the wine to evolve and attain balance and harmony.
